These live clips of obscure Miami gospel act C Lord C's are stupendous

I don't know much about this act. I must have first heard them via Kevin Nutt, who of course has played them on his essential and long-running weekly WFMU gospel radio show Sinner's Crossroads. I just played them on my own weekly XRAY FM gospel radio show 'Buked & Scorned today, after spending too much money on the record you see the label for above just last weekend (God bless the US Postal Service). [Actually, if anyone has suggestions for how I can take the show, which I record in my house here and then it gets played in Portland, if anyone has ideas for how I can also get it on the air in Detroit or Windsor or Ann Arbor or Hamtramck, please let me know. All I'd have to do is modify the station ID part. It feels a bit weird to take all these great gospel records (most of them found here) and then only play them for those West Coast lilies of the valley all the way four days' drive away. Regardless, it is streamable from anywhere, people in PDX seem to like it, and the station it is on, XRAY FM, is super awesome — I wish we had radio like it in Detroit!]


Like I said, I do not know much about the C Lord C's, aside from the fact that they have a handful of 45s that I'll now be hunting down, as they're so darn tough and good. And that a lot of Florida gospel, from Otis Wright to the Consolers, is amazingly good stuff. The above clip looks to be from the 1980s, while the one below is from last month. From the Pure Heart Travelers to the Sensational Skylarks, I'm aware there are hundreds of great Detroit gospel artists, and my aim is actually soon to track those people down and talk with them directly rather than just post their music like I'm doing here with the fabulous C Lord C's.
