The solo production Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King is the theatrical debut of humorist and Daily Show correspondent Hasan Minhaj. The show plays the City Theatre on Friday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets ($30 and $55) will go on sale this Friday, July 29 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at OlympiaEntertainment.com, the Fox Theatre and Joe Louis Arena box offices, Hockeytown Authentics in Troy (without service charge), at all Ticketmaster locations, and also at Ticketmaster.com. To charge tickets by phone, call (800) 745-3000. Prices will go up $5 on the day of the show.

It looks really cool, even though the New York Times didn't absolutely love it. Fans of the talented artist will want to check him out in person, no doubt. Homecoming King tells the story of the “New Brown America,” based on true events from Minhaj’s first generation Indian-American experience. Navigating between two worlds, it follows Minhaj’s arrival in the US, meeting his sister, interracial love, racism, bullying, and his family’s quest to achieve that infamous American Dream.
