Prince's "Erotic City" — the long version.

Copeland or Death Cab for Cutie.

Jimmy Edgar. I think I love the irony of "I Wanna Be Your STD."

Everyone from Sade to Kid Rock; from Faith Hill to Janis Joplin.

I like the Cocteau Twins because the music makes me feel like I am on LSD.

Al Green (non-religious material).

George Winston, December.

AC/DC

Anything by R. Kelly. His music is made for nothing but sex.

LL Cool J — anything! Fast or slow!

112's first CD. Classic babymaker!

Cat Power for lovemaking, Cannibal Corpse for hate-fucking.

Nine Inch Nails, "Closer" "F*** Like an Animal" — the words throw me over the edge.

Luther Vandross. Chicago works too.

Mötley Crue, Shout at the Devil — it just sounds sexy, in an '80s sort of way.

Marvin Gaye, "I Want You"

Not Marvin Gaye! It just makes us laugh.

The Very Best of Lionel Ritchie.

Beck, Midnite Vultures. This motherfucker just oozes sexiness.

The Batman motion picture score.

Everything from Norwegian death metal to Frank Sinatra.

Barry White

MORE MUSIC: Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Let Love In — everything that's right and wrong about being in love or lust, and what the consequences can be. • Silk, Tonight. Every track on it has the perfect rhythm for sex. • The Smurfs all-star lineup. • If you want get your freak on: Lil Wayne, Tha Carter III. If you want get all romantic and mushy: Nora Jones, Come Away With Me. • Lovage, Songs to Make Love to Your Old Lady By, because Mike Patton is awesome. And I dare you to listen to it and not want to fuck somebody. • Fiona Apple always says she's been a bad bad girl. • I don't like the distraction, but if there has to be music it should be something pumpy and jumpy. Maybe The Clash? • Stereolab, Cobra and Phases Group Play Voltage in the Milky Night. Great grooves, nice vocals, and it's really long. • Days of Heaven soundtrack. • Classical is actually pretty good, mainly because the words don't distract you. • Anything James Taylor if you're in the mood for sweet, slow lovin'. • Guns N' Roses, Appetite for Destruction, Rough sex to rough guitar licks and lyrics — nothing better. • Joi, "Lick," Tim Buckley, "Sweet Surrender" and "Get on Top," any early Bowie ballad. • I realize I'm kind of doing the sellout thing here, but probably Maroon 5, Songs About Jane. • I make my own mixes off of iTunes. • Frostwire: Stealing hot music makes me hot. • Ne-yo, "Mirror." That so just explains it all! • • H.I.M., Dark Light — it's gentle and rough all at the same time. • Old Gino Vanelli and Teddy Pendergrass LPs. • Anything by Sarah McLachlan, it just sets the right mood for us. • I really do enjoy a bit of electronica, modern or old. Most of it is drug-based, meaning they start mild and build to a climax. • Dirty Vegas' self-titled CD. The house-techno beat thing going on gives it a great rhythm. • Any Oingo Boingo LP. • Blues, anything rhythmic. I can't 'work' with anything too melodic; I'd lose focus. • Sade any album except Lovers Rock. • I like Eliza Neals' No Frogs for Snakes, 'cause it covers the bases with rock, then soul, then rock ballads. • Yes, Close to the EdgeKid Rock anything. Hard and fast. • I have a CD, with a mix of Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Wolfsheim, etc. • Pistol Day ParadeThe Doors — it's so climactic. • Either Pretty Ricky's Bluestars CD or any kind of hardcore metal. • Danzig, Danzig. I'm not a huge Danzig fan, but I love that CD. The music is really sexy and dark. • Some Tom Waits or Sigur Rós for the more romantic moments, some doom rock or punk • Anything hardcore. I want crazy blast beats, on my clit and on the drums. • There was Detroit area band a while back called Butterfly. There's something wickedly sexual about their EP • For me: Any Andrea Bocelli CD. Because I'd do him if I could. • CD sounds corny but Madonna, Erotica, or Nouvelle Vague, "Dance With Me" • Jill Scott — she has a sexy voice and sings sex like nobody's business. • Techno — the beats are motivating. • Les Nubians— no words to understand to throw him off. • RammsteinSublimeMaxwell. There is something about his vocals and the way the instrumentals just flow that really just gets you there. • Sleep Chamber for the dark melodic beats • Oh, it's so obvious, but Nine Inch Nails gets me gushing every time. • When it's kinky, I like The Cramps. The Rawhide channel on Sirius (old country) is always fun. Roxy Music if you are in love with each other. • What a good idea! Sigur Rós or Explosions in the Sky. • New Order, Substance.

NOT MUSIC: Whalesong. The atmospheric, otherwordly sounds just get my mind in a zen-like state where I can wholly concentrate on pleasure. • I like having the History Channel on as background noise. • Adult Swim between 2 and 6 a.m. Why? Because then it really shows who's paying attention to what. Getting distracted by Aqua Teen Hunger Force is pretty funny when you're trying to get your groove on.

ANYTHING BUT: If worse comes to worse, I'll use flashing lights and grape-flavored sodium pentothal. • At the minimum, the television has to be off. I once spent an entire sex session with Seinfield on in the background and can honestly say I listened to the whole damn episode. • I don't know about the best — but the worst are those fucking DVD menus that keep repeating a 30-second clip until you press play.

NO MUSIC AT ALL: Silence makes it more raw, and I can really pay attention to how he responds. • No music — just the rhythmic sounds of two bags of meat slamming against one another. • None. I don't know about your sex, but mine sounds great! • Music can be distracting or suddenly ridiculous. Ambient sounds from the street or weather I actually love most at night. • None. Distracts from the music in my mind. • Total silence. I get distracted by music and end up wanting to sing or dance. • I honestly like it quiet during sex. I want to hear my partners moans so I know what feels good to him and what I should do more. • When the going gets good, who's concentrating on music anyway? • I don't do it to music. • N/A: Moaning and screaming are the best sounds I want to hear. • The soundtrack of my orgasmic screams — who needs music?
