Chelsea Wolfe is headlining the newly opened El Club in southwest Detroit tonight, May 19.
For those who haven't heard of Wolfe, sit back and let me explain. She is part human, part wolf(e) and add a dash of sorcerer. Her sound, her look, and her being are mysterious and magical.
Wolfe has an interesting way of blending gothic and dark lyrics with a hush, ethereal voice. She combines folk guitar sounds with harsh, crooning metal over electronic synths. All of these sounds could be overwhelming, but Wolfe leaves them with a stripped back production that ends up being really soothing.
And as for El Club, it's Detroit's newest club and we're super excited to see Chelsea playing there. The sound system is insane and the drinks are strong. Nothing better!
