ROUGHING IT...

A bunch of area indie-folk types are throwing a groovy "Farmhouse Fest" camping musical event this Saturday, August 18th, at 5830 Johnstown Rd., outside of Ann Arbor. (Hmmm...Johnstown...camping...who's bringing the Kool-Aid? Wait a minute. That was Jonestown...never mind...) Canada, Or, the Whale, Frontier Ruckus and Matt Jones are just a few of the artists scheduled to appear at the event, which kicks off at 3 p.m. and has a $7 admission fee. Camping is free. The flyer claims the place has only one toilet, though. Sounds like "fun"... (Makes me think of that old National Lampoon Lemmings folk song by Christopher Guest, "Colorado's Calling Me": "The baby didn't die until we'd burned up all the wood/Considering we ate her raw, she tasted purty good...")
