RIP Ann Arbor guitar great Gary Quackenbush of psychedelic band SRC

SRC founder Gary Quackenbush died over the weekend after a prolonged illness. He was the guitarist for the beloved 1960s psychedelic rock act, who at the time were one of the biggest local draws — up there with the MC5, Stooges and Amboy Dukes.

The group played a series of successful reunion shows a handful of years ago. Our deepest condolences to Quackenbush's family, friends and fans.

On their first two LPs and early 45s, SRC was led by Gary on guitar and brother Glenn on keyboards.
