Pixies
Indie Cindy
Pias America

It’s totally understandable when a band as adored and revered as the Pixies resists the ultimately inevitable reformation and then, when it’s back together, is hesitant to put out new music. The expectations are frankly unrealistic. Frank Black (or Black Francis) and his merry crew are no longer the same excited, experimental kids that put out Surfer Rosa and Doolittle. Kim Deal is gone. The dynamic is different, and that’s OK because age and life happens to everyone. What the Pixies is, is a great set of innovative musicians, still looking to push the boundaries a little, as Indie Cindy proves. Not their best effort, but a long way from horrible.
