While the lights shine brightly downtown, Detroit Public Schools Community District continues to struggle to provide basic needs for its students, aka our future. To help DPSCD students and faculty, PJ’s Lager House has arranged for an all-day, three-floor fundraiser. Underground Vinyl, Gemineye Tarot, and B.D.T. Smoke shop are among the growing list of vendors, Pietrzyk Pierogi and Funny Burger will provide the eats, and Ian Lee Lamb, Willa Rae, Count Mack, Tiny Jag, and Miz Korona are just a handful of the event’s performing artists. There will also be an interactive photo set and some outdoor activities.

So, This is Christmas — a Benefit for Detroit Public Schools runs from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16 at PJ's Lager House; 1254 Michigan Ave., Detroit; 313-961-4668; pjslagerhouse.com; Tickets are $5 with a school supply donation, supply list can be found at event’s Facebook page.
