“My longest-running current project is on swing rhythm guitar for jazz master Wendell Harrison’s Detroit Swing Ensemble. So many virtuosic musicians have performed with us in that group; we’re currently recording our first album with some amazingly talented young players. I also play electric guitar in old-school rhythm-n-blues projects the Brunswick Brawlers and the Raw Dealers, and I’ve been sitting in on a regular basis with my pals in the Barrel Brothers Street Band. Even on electric lead guitar, I’ve got a rhythm player’s mentality — I’m not looking for a spotlight so much as to serve the songs and to be part of an ensemble making good music.”
