Also just announced: Chicago electro-house pioneer Felix Da Housecat and big beat all-star Fatboy Slim (what’s this old dude, Norman Cook, 47, done lately? A surprisingly enterprising collab with David Byrne in 2010, for one thing), who will be making his first-ever appearance at the festival; Berlin club commanders Ben Klock and Ryan Elliott (we knew him when he was just an aging teenager living in a leafy West Dearborn neighborhood); Detroiters Claude Young (now based Tokyo), Mike Servito (now based Brooklyn) and — thank God, finally, Detroiters based in fucking Detroit — Al Ester, the Detroit Techno Militia crew and Kero (from Windsor, but that counts).
And more, more more: Loco Dice, Martin Buttrich, Pulshar (dub techno stylists from Spain), Traversable Wormhole; disco-soul-funk comes by way of DJ Harvey and Metro Area; and more leftfield beats will roll courtesy of LA’s Gaslamp Killer and Warp’s Hudson Mohawke.
More updates to follow as soon as they drop from the sky, ravers.
