Just what exactly is the good life? David Johnson and Dan Stollman think they’ve found it in their new downtown spot, Good Life Lounge. Already three weeks old, the multi-purpose space has been under construction for more than 18 months, with a VIP room almost complete, and plans to expand next door in 2004. With more than 30 years of restaurant and bar experience between them, Johnson and Stollman feel they have found the ideal place for the city’s young up-and-coming crowd. “We want people to come here and feel like they’re in a New York or Boston club,” Johnson says. “We saw a void here with clubs that were coming and going pretty fast.” Currently open Fridays and Saturdays, Good Life will branch out in the fall, adding WJLB to host a Monday Night Football party, as well as video-game tournaments and live bands. With every avenue explored, Johnson is left with only thing to say, “We’re limitless.” Check it out at 630 Woodward Ave, (above Maverick’s). Call 313-962-1200 for more information.
