I just got word from Detroit veteran emcee, 87, that Wasted Youth is reuniting for one evening only for a New Years Eve performance at Oslo. This isn't the '80s L.A. punk band Wasted Youth but rather the influential Detroit hip-hop group that we put on the MT cover in 2005. According to 87, they haven't performed together as a group in about four years so if you were ever a fan of the Plymouth Road-based rap trio, tonight would be the night to see them. There's no telling if they'll perform again.

While chatting about tonight's performance, 87 joked that he wasn't sure what songs they'd perform. Much of the material on their beloved 2 Minds 1 Block EP that was released in 2000 had a lot to do with slinging drugs and various other elements that the group has outgrown. Whatever it is that they perform, it should hopefully be a good show. Nick Speed (who just did an interview on Thisis50.com) is DJing earlier in the night as is DJ Psycho. Admission is free before 11 p.m. and $5 after that.
