Kid Rock has added two more dates at DTE Energy Music Theatre, bringing the total number of dates to 10. The new shows are on Friday, Aug. 21 and Saturday, Aug. 22, with tickets going on sale May 2 at 10 a.m.
According to a release, Kid Rock is expected to sell over 145,000 tickets, shattering Michigan's previous ticket sale record held by Garth Brooks (approximately 107,000 tickets), as well as the record held "by his good friend Bob Seger" for most shows played in a row at the venue. The full schedule for Kid Rock's DTE Energy Music Theatre dates are Aug. 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 15, 18, 19, 21, and 22.

Even though we once crowned him
"Boob of the Year," we've got to hand it to Kid Rock for fighting the concert ticket-industrial complex. Just as he did in 2013, Rock announced a summer tour today that will feature $20 tickets. According to a press release, tickets from the 2nd row to the lawn will be $20, with reduced parking and service fees to keep the total price at about $30 or under. And though Walmart isn't very rock 'n' roll, $20 "all-in" tickets (including parking) will be offered from participating stores, as well as participating box offices.
Tickets bought at Walmart also entitle the purchaser to a coupon for $2 off Rock's new album,
First Kiss. And yes, that is
Detroit artist Niagara's painting on the album cover. Niagara in Walmart? Now we've seen everything!
Classic rockers Foreigner will open. Tickets go onsale to the general public on Feb. 24 at
Live Nation.
