Seventeen years after rising to fame as America’s first ever American Idol and 14 years after Steve Carell famously blurted her name during his painful on-screen chest waxing in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Kelly Clarkson is now contemplating the Meaning Of Life. The Grammy Award–winner, children’s author, and happy-go-lucky coach on NBC’s The Voice still charms the pants off of America long after her tearful Idol win.
Though her latest, Meaning Of Life, earned a slew of glowing reviews including Newsday, which hailed it as “the best album of her career,” we just can’t break away from the pop-anthem-rock crossover that is her 2004 hit “Since U Been Gone.” And now that Clarkson is back on the road, we can breathe for the first time.
Kelly Clarkson performs at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21 at Little Caesars Arena; 2645 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-471-7000; 313presents.com; Tickets start at $20.
