Ryan Adams refers to Nashville jam band and recent Grammy Award winner the Infamous Stringdusters as the “Star Wars of Bluegrass.” In other words, this ain’t your grandpappy’s bluegrass.

Since its formation in 2005, the five-piece, foot-stomping Stringdusters has sharpened its harmonizing and honed in on its ability to redefine the genre’s traditionalism. What has remained consistent throughout its 13 years as a jam tour de force are the band’s good vibes as Travis Book, Andy Falco, Jeremy Garrett, Andy Hall, and Chris Pandolfi together preach sonic positivity. The Infamous Stringdusters will perform at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8 at the Flagstar Strand Theatre; 12 N. Saginaw St., Pontiac; flagstarstrandtheatrepontiac.com; Tickets are $20-$30.
