ICYMI: Protomartyr were guests on this week's Sound Opinions


Music critic Greg Kot of WBEZ Chicago's Sound Opinions loves Protomartyr. Apparently he caught their set to a room of about 20 people on a rainy day at SXSW in Austin and has been enamored ever since — Sound Opinions even regularly uses a Protomartyr song as interstitial music on their popular music criticism show.

In case you missed it, this past weekend Sound Opinions invited the band onto the show, where they discussed singer Joe Casey's unique vocal style ("It's almost like he's the guy at the end of the bar talking as much as singing"), the band's relationship to the late Elmore Leonard, and Iggy Pop ("any credible bar in Detroit has Fun House on the jukebox").
