ICYMI: An archive of every show held at the Gold Dollar from 1996-2001

The Gold Dollar might best be known today by outsiders as that place where the White Stripes had their first show in 1997. I started to think of it the other day because we failed to include the spot in a little slideshow we recently posted of 10 defunct area music venues.

One brief glance at this list of all of the shows held at the no frills bar on Cass reveals a real commitment to some of the most interesting and fun local and international acts, from confrontational jams to what we now know as Detroit's great garage revival of the olden 1990s times.
