At last year's Warped Tour, Bedouin Soundclash's set was just about the only thing that made that the Pontiac Silverdome's steaming asphalt bearable. The Canadian trio's vibrant reggae slink is shot through with punk ethos and silvery pure melody. They're tough like Bad Brains, but easier on the ears than the laughter of your new summer girlfriend. Here bassist Eon Sinclair lays down his current monomanias.

5. Future Shock: It's some nonfiction I'm currently reading by Alvin Toffler. The other guys tease me about it because it was a big controversy back in 1968, but I really like it.

4. PSP: We all just got PSPs and are now completely hooked. I've been playing FIFA soccer while Pat's been totally engrossed with the HBO's Entourage. It's made for much more fun touring, but maybe a little less social touring too. Hopefully, the addiction will pass.

3. "Popozao": People always ask what the next shit is going to be for music in 2006 and it's "Popozao." We listen to this song once a day. You put it on, and no matter what is going on with your life, it's going pretty well, because at least you aren't K-Fed.

2. Hohner B2A: Yesterday we flew down to San Francisco and Jay and I both bought new guitars. I got the super '80s looking Hohner B2A. It has no headstock, is very Duran Duran and is half black and half white. I love it.

1. Grammy?: Bedouin recently won the Juno Award for "Best New Group of the Year." Thanks to all of our fans for the support, and hopefully next year it'll be "Best New Group" at the Grammies.

Saturday, April 15, and Sunday, April 16, at the Shelter, 431 E. Congress St., Detroit; 313-961-8137; with State Radio.
