In the band's first single from their forthcoming album Host, due out July 27, Siamese explores obsession and the need for more (even after you've had your fill). Directed and produced by Obscura Broadcasting Co., "Tarrare" blends art school and Hitchcock with a hint of high school slasher flick for good and gory measure.
Here frontwoman Johanna Champagne taps into her inner Karen O circa Yeah Yeah Yeah's register, which has been treated with a healthy dose of fuzzy reverb that, when paired with the steady pulse of the track's anxiety-inducing drums, feels urgent. This makes sense — considering there's a bloodthirsty monster man in the goddamn backseat.
Siamese will perform with Tart and WOMB at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 27 at the Loving Touch; 22634 Woodward Ave., Ferndale; 248-820-5596; thelovingtouchferndale.com; Tickets are $8.
