Dynamic rapper Yelawolf to play Fillmore

In 2005, Michael Atha was not yet known as rap star Yelawolf. In fact, he was being featured on a reality TV competition The Road to Stardom With Missy Elliott. Though he was eliminated, he hustled some mixtapes, and here we are. He’s got some Detroit ties, too: Both Eminem and Kid Rock have been featured on his tracks. No matter what side of the rap spectrum you may fall on, Yelawolf is an honorary Detroiter with his quick wit, fire rhymes, and take-no-shit attitude.

Yelawolf will play The Fillmore, Friday, November 24; Doors open at 7 p.m.; 2115 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-961-5451; thefillmoredetroit.com; Tickets start at $8.90.
