Conceptual prog-rockers Coheed and Cambria are plotting their return to metro Detroit this summer as part of a co-headlining tour with heavy metal band Mastodon.
The "Unheavenly Skye" tour will kick off its 26-date trek across North America on May 28, taking a lap around the U.S. before making a stop in Sterling Heights at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill. The two headliners will take the stage on Tuesday, June 11 with opening support from Every Time I Die.
The tour will give fans the rare chance to see Grammy-winning artists Mastodon perform their critically acclaimed 2008 album, Crack the Skye in its entirety. Coheed and Cambria will tour in support of the latest chapter of lead man Claudio Sanchez's sci-fi series, The Armory Wars, with material from the band's 2018 concept album Vaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures
Tickets ($25+) go on sale on Friday, Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. and will be available for purchase at 313presents.com.
