It took a while for Detroit’s underground rap collective Clear Soul Forces to flesh out their debut record, Detroit Revolution(s). Breaking their silence, MCs E-Fave, Ilajide, Noveliss, and LAZ. are on the verge of releasing their 2012 follow up. The group, which formed after an impromptu studio visit with Royce da 5’9’’, just released its lead single from the forthcoming record, Still, due out in February. “They Shootin” references first-person-shooter console games of the ’90s and the rampant inner-city crime in their hometown growing up. One Be Lo, Aztek the Butterfly, Sin Crawford, Vibe City Tribe, and others share the bill.

The Grinch Who Stole X-Mas Jam Session with Clear Soul Forces takes place Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 9 p.m. at 208 S. First St., Ann Arbor; 734-996-8555; blindpigmusic.com; Tickets are $8.
