This Friday, January 24, Trinosophes hosts Tony Holland with Djallo Djakate, Joel Peterson and Clarence Williams.

They say, “A member of the front-line of Detroit's legendary Griot Galaxy, saxophonist Tony Holland is debuting this new group as part of Friday avant-jazz series. A fiery player on all the saxophones, he has been featured on numerous recordings, including several with guitarist Spenser Barefield and fellow Griot percussionist Tani Tabbal, which have recently been re-issued as part of the Beneath Detroit series. For this concert, Tony will be joined by Djallo Djakate on drums, Clarence Williams on guitar and Joel Peterson on bass. We'll start the evening with a dinner as well, so show up early.”

Dinner served from 7 pm - 7:45 pm; music at 8 pm. $10 suggested donation for the concert.

In addition, the venue will host Drag Bingo on Saturday, January 25.

“We know there's bingo, we know there's drag, we know there's a dj named Paris Hilton and we know it will in part benefit Fender Bender's programs. What more do you need to know? Oh yeah: $5-15 dollar donation; 5-10 pm.”
