Jack White’s Third Man Records will invade MI Fest when The Raconteurs headline the first-annual event on September 17, 2011, in Brooklyn, Mich.
Third Man Stage performers include Nashville rock pioneers JEFF The Brotherhood, Detroit hip hop artist and producer Black Milk, PUJOL, the Black Belles and The Thornbills. That’s a fairly even split between Detroit and Nashville bands there.
According to the press release, “The elusive Third Man Rolling Record Store-unveiled by Jack White earlier this year-will roll into MI Fest for the festivities. The bright-yellow truck has been equipped with a microphone and turntables for guest DJs to spin records inside the store, and a state-of-the-art sound system for bands to hook up, plug into and rock outside. Then there's the merch itself, a mix of limited-edition Third Man vinyl releases, Rolling Record Store t-shirts, tote bags and drinking accessories.”
Other artists already announced to appear on MI Fest's multiple stages include Jeff Daniels, Alto Reed's AllStars, The Ben Daniels Band, The Ragbirds, Bear Lake, Hot Club of Detroit, Jill Jack, Mark Farner (formerly of Grand Funk Railroad), Marnée, Mitch Ryder, The Howling Diablos, The Juliets, The Rockets, The Romantics, Ty Stone & The Truth, and Whitey Morgan & The 78s.
