City Slang: The Detroit Community Chorus sings a Detroit Panorama

On the evening of Friday, May 11 and the afternoon of Saturday, May 23, the Community Chorus of Detroit presents A Detroit Panorama: Music of a Great American City. Find out more at the CCD website.

According to the website, “This unique, collaborative program will be a celebration of the history, present, and future of Detroit through great choral music. It will include an exciting variety of outstanding music that ranges from the jazz, French, and African-American choral traditions of Detroit to well-regarded choral music by Detroit-area composers; Eric Whitacre’s beloved Hebrew Love Songs will be featured.”

”The Community Chorus of Detroit is dedicated to serving the Metro Detroit area, with an emphasis on the city of Detroit, by providing opportunities for the enjoyment of musical excellence to a community of both choristers and audience members, richly diverse in every way.  The CCD is committed to maintaining the highest levels of artistic and professional integrity through its selection of great music, its leadership and organizational development, its rigorous expectations, and its outreach, while providing an outstanding overall experience for its choristers.”
