Local atmospheric rockers Superbomb (featuring members of Black Lodge, Factory Girls and Dead Letters) will perform at Ferndale Library on Friday, January 3. This will be one of the library’s “First Stop Friday” events.

According to the band, “The series, curated by the library's Kelly Bennett, has become a regular fixture in the Ferndale music scene over the last few years, occurring every first Friday of the month at 7:00 PM. (The shows' early start times make them a "First Stop" for the weekend.)”

Says singer/bassist Greg Aubry: "It's a fun and unexpected place to play a show. I've been going to these ever since I learned about them in 2011. We played our first one two years ago and wanted to do it again. We played it really loud and intense, but this time, the challenge will be dialing down the volume and getting more intimate; really pushing the emotion of the vocals without the rhythm section doing the heavy lifting. I'm excited to give it a shot."

“ Also playing the evening are Remnose, a young trio whose folk flavor brings to mind Neil Young, Iron & Wine and Kings of Convenience. Think strong harmonies and soulful, tasteful instrumentation that has a bit of funk to it. They recently came off excellent appearances at The Loving Touch's "Tuesdays in the Forest" and Hamtramck's Lo & Behold Records. Singer/guitarist Marlon Morton has teamed up with Superbomb before, forming an ad-hoc cover band playing all of Nirvana's "In Utero" for its 20th anniversary back in September.”

The show starts at 7. No cover.
