For those unfamiliar, there’s a wonderful photographer based in Paris called Sue Rynski who spent much of the ‘70s and ‘80s snapping shots and hanging out with Detroit’s punk and art rock elite.
Rynski has posted a new blog here where she talked about her many and varied adventures.
“The essence of rock and roll continues to be my inspiration,” Rynski says. “There still exists rock and roll that is unbounded by the constraints of commercial gain and fashionable trend and the people in my photos are making and living it on their own terms. Far from the spotlight, in little clubs, in their lifestyle, there is a freedom that has become rare in our times.”
Go check it out, and check out her pics at her official site.
