Local singer/songwriter Stewart Francke has launched a new Kickstarter campaign to raise $25,000 to make a new album as well as a documentary DVD. The campaign can be viewed here.
Francke says, “The money will be used to finish recording and mixing the songs at RMS Studios in Birmingham with my partner, drummer and co-producer Bryan Reilly. We'll then play a full band show and shoot it in high def video, and edit and package that, along with tons of other interview footage we've already shot, into the documentary. To specify further, the money goes to paying additional musicians, a graphic artist for the Digi-pak, mailing costs to radio & media people, a radio plugger both here and in the UK, photographers, publicists, studio costs, and an assortment of myriad costs that always pop up. Then there's the entire video process to contend with.”
These Kickstarter campaigns are getting very popular, and I’m still not entirely sure how I feel about them. But the choice is yours. If you’re a Francke fan, click the link and see what you think.
