Electro-indie-popsters the Rogue Satellites are collaborating with Alice Victoria Schneider on a multimedia project.

They say, “Detroit’s Corktown Studios, which is the rehearsal space for Rogue Satellites, will house this collaborative performance/installation in its exhibition space. The band will perform while completely immersed in an environment created by Schneider. The dark aesthetics of band and artist will combine seamlessly to create a singular experience.

Alice Victoria Schneider is a Detroit-based visual artist whose work is the combination of sculpture, painting, printmaking and filmmaking. She is a Fine Arts student at the College for Creative Studies. Her powerful work has been well received at several premier art spaces in and around Detroit.

Rogue Satellites is a two-piece synth-rock group comprised of musicians who are also visual artists. Award winning realist painter, Lisa Poszywak provides vocals and various forms of percussion. Painter and printmaker, Jaye Thomas provides vocals, guitar, bass, sampling and sequencing. The band’s work is highly conceptual and strongly visual, featuring cosmetically modified lighting and equipment.

The installation will be open for viewing on July 21st from 3pm to 5pm. The performance will follow at 5pm. Corktown Studios is located at 2707 14th St. in Detroit.
