City Slang: Prussia to release album in segments

Moody, atmospheric indie locals Prussia has announced that the band will release the new Poor English album in three parts, starting on August 16.

Tuesday will see the release of Poor English, Part 1. Parts 2 and 3 will be release in September and October. All three will be released on 10” and digital download via the band’s Bandcamp page. The 10” EPs will cost $7. Fans can pay whatever they feel is appropriate for the downloads.

It’s a fascinating approach to an album release, not dissimilar to the unconventional methods employed by bands like Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails. It’ll be interesting to see how things work out for them. Judging by the artwork above, by Justin Ames, the vinyl will be worth getting hold of.

In addition, Prussia have some local dates announced. The band will be at Detroit’s El Comal, in Mexicantown, on August 26 with Mexican Knives and K.I.D.S.. On September 3, they will be at Woodruff’s in Ypsilanti with Lightning Love and Kickstand Band.

UPDATE: The "Mediator" single is to be premiered on Pop Matters. Click here to download.
