Brent McKay of the Strange, plus Erik Nordin, will perform at the Jazz Café tonight, Friday, December 7, as Mr. Piano Killer.
The show is free, from 6-8 p.m., and the Brandon Rose Band is also on the bill.
They say, “Mr. Piano Killer consisting of Erik Nordin and Brent Mckay, mold musical movements into what they term ‘melodic maps’. A baby grand and haunted vocal guide the listener through a multi tiered mystery of psychedelic sound. The music glides cinematically, effortlessly like a child on a swing, only to downshift abruptly like a growling Ferrari GT before sliding off a cliff. mr piano killer invite you to swing with them and their ghosts (songs) till the wee hours of morning. tell the kids not to wait up.”
”The "Jazz Cafe Discovery Series" is a special educational presented by the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts. It is designed to draw out new and emerging musical talent from the metro-Detroit area and give musicians more recognition and exposure.”
