The 10th annual Home for the Holidaze songwriter showcase and charity drive takes place at the Corktown Tavern on Friday, December 21.
Static Network says that it has “been hosting this night of song for the past ten years to benefit the community's homeless residents. The event brings together six local singer-songwriters in one evening of acoustic music for a good cause.”
On the bill is: PATRICK DAVY & The Ghosts, DON "DOOP" DUPRIE, AUDRA KUBAT, TIMOTHY MONGER, ALISON LEWIS, and JAY GRAVES.
According to the press release, “The proceeds from the event go towards purchasing food and winter clothing items to distribute to the homeless. The food is then distributed to soup kitchens and food pantries in the Detroit area. Pet food donations are also collected each year and donated to a non-profit animal rescue shelter. This year's recipients are the Outcry Youth & Street Ministry. Brother Joe Hicks has been helping the homeless and youth in Detroit for over a decade. His nights are spent on the streets of downtown helping those less fortunate with the donations he receives. http://brotherjoesyouthandstreetministry.com Hater Kitty Rescue Army is a local cat rescue group who takes care of strays, gets them health checked, and then helps to place them in permanent homes. www.HaterKitty.com.”
