Black Jake & the Carnies will play the Ark in Ann Arbor on December 21 with Lac La Belle, simultaneously waving goodbye to departing mandolin player Zach Pollock.

They say, “Never afraid to eschew exploiting tragedy for personal gain, Black Jake & The Carnies are taking advantage of Zach's farewell appearance to construct a holiday-themed end-of-the-world event they're dubbing, "The Black Jake & the Carnies Apocolypsemas Special." This out-of-the-ordinary holiday special will take place at Ann Arbor's most venerable of venues, The Ark, on December 21, a date commonly (and erroneously) cited as the last day of human existence predicted by the ancient Mayans. One should expect an energy level beyond the high standard on which Black Jake & co. have staked their reputation.”

Tickets for the Apocolypsemas Special run $15 and are available at the door and on The Ark's website (www.theark.org). Doors open at 7:30pm. Music starts at 8:00pm.
