So far in 2011, Black Milk has worked hard to balance a heavy tour schedule with the necessary long hours in the studio working on future releases. It was fitting to receive an invitation by none other than Jack White to both perform and record at his Third Man Records store and studio in Nashville. Here’s an excerpt from TMR’s press release:

...on Friday April 8th, Third Man’s favorite rapper/producer from Detroit, Black Milk, will bring his distinctive controlled yet emotional delivery and live band to perform at TMR. Having worked with J Dilla, Slum Village, Phat Kat and many more, Milk is a legend on the Detroit hip hop scene. His fifth self-produced solo album, “Album Of The Year,” was released last year, and he’ll be following it up by dropping into Third Man Studios to record a single with Jack White co-producing, for future release as a Third Man 7-inch and digital single.

This will be the first live performance in Nashville for Black Milk and his band, and the single will be the first hip hop release on White’s celebrated label. The group will also hit a few more US markets before traveling to Europe in May.
