Big Sean streams exclusive documentary on Tidal

In an attempt to distinguish itself from other music streaming services, Jay Z's artist-owned Tidal has been featuring exclusive videos and other media from its roster — such as a new documentary about the making of Detroit rapper Big Sean's latest LP, Dark Sky Paradise.

Like other Tidal's other exclusives so far, the 12-minute long doc isn't necessarily vital, but fans should find it amusing. Shot in stark black and white, the video shows Big Sean tentatively rapping scratch verse over work-in-progress beats. The video also features cameos by John Legend, Jhene Aiko, and Travis Scott.

In other news, Big Sean was in Detroit earlier this week to unveil a new recording studio that he helped donate to his alma mater, Detroit's Cass Technical High School.
