A quick note about the cover to this week's 'Best New Bands' issue of Metro Times

Did you see this week's cover to our "15 Best New Bands" story (posted below; the above is a great outtake)? It all started when our editor Vince Grzegorek asked for us to try to match our sister publication the Cleveland Scene's cover shoot for when they had their own "Best New Bands" feature. As this is a great idea, we jumped on it. I was super happy that all of the artists involved attended, except for a couple who were out of town.

The photo was taken by Alyson Williams, who was our photo intern all summer. As she is now back in school full time at CCS, this will likely be her last shoot for us for some time. We will miss her, as her work is awesome.

The image was shot in the alley behind Trinosophes, so we're grateful to them for letting us shoot there. The records themselves were donated by Street Corner Music and Peoples Records

And to answer your question, yes this was an absolute blast to do! Many thanks for all the great musicians who participated. The Detroit metropolitan area has so much talent, it's insane.
