Dustin Williams has owned Temptation Lounge for exactly "a year and a week." The Hamtramck nightclub formerly known as Mars Bar hasn't seen myriad changes since it came under new ownership, but has transformed enough to constitute an improvement.

The interior still features a futuristic aesthetic and the bar has mostly national brand liquors, but thanks to Williams patrons can now grab a Michigan craft beer while they're sitting on those shiny silver bar stools.

"Before, when it was Mars Bar, it was almost all liquor. Now, we're trying to cater more to craft beer lovers, that's a big thing right now," says Williams. So, he and his staff regularly rotate out popular Michigan brands and his customers are loving it.

Not into craft beers? Not into beer at all? Temptation Lounge has a full cocktail menu that's subject to change seasonally. Right now, Williams says his bartenders are working on a summer menu that will include refreshing specialities such as the Summer Splash Martini.

Williams says he likes to leave such things up to his staff, trusting them to craft masterful mixes and delicious drinks. In fact, having reliable bartenders is an aspect of the bar business that Williams says is paramount to running a quality establishment.

"Hospitality is our biggest thing," he says. "It's warm here, and comfortable."

With an upscale environment, luxury furnishings, and walls hung with works from local artists, Williams says Temptation Lounge attracts a wide demographic. "We get everyone from 21-year-olds to 72-year-olds," he says. "We're welcoming to everybody."

Temptation Lounge also offers something to everybody. On Monday and Tuesday nights they host a popular karaoke night. On Friday nights there's a ballroom dancing class. Other evenings feature a more rock 'n' roll theme or local DJs. The bar is closed on Sundays, but Williams says the space is available to rent for special occasions or parties on that day.
