Royal Oak's Office Coffee Shop offers an alternative to the traditional work space

Everyone knows it can be a chore to hunker down at work, particularly during the summer months when long lunches and early happy hours beckon us away from our desks. But one local coffee shop a solution: A work space away from work.

The Office Coffee Shop, located at 402 South Lafayette Ave in Royal Oak, will soon provide locals with all the benefits of a work environment without actually being in the office. Here, folks will find a shared work space as well as private offices, a conference room, copy machines, printers, scanners, high speed Internet, oh, and plenty of caffeine.

Michael and Brooke Keith, the husband/wife duo who co-own the operation, say the Office Coffee Shop is also a great place to network with professionals from all industries. What's more, shop-goers can feel good about time spent at the site as five percent of every Office Coffee Shop purchase goes directly to charity.
