Rock City Pies will appear on 'Restaurant Startup'

Of course, if you've been paying attention, you knew that the team behind Hamtramck's Rock City Eatery and the spiffed-up Campau Tower will be appearing on the show. Head pie guy Nikita Sanches has had to keep quiet about the show (nothing kills the buzz like knowing what's going to happen, right?) but the wait is over. On Tuesday, March 3, the show will air on CNBC.

At least now we know the premise. A blurb from CNBC's YouTube channel tells us:

Rock City Pies, owned by a rock n’ roll couple from Detroit, wants to take its hand-crafted delights and turn them into a nationwide sensation. Sixpence Pie Company, owned by two suburban soccer moms from Southington, CT, has been so successful that it’s outgrown its tiny space within two years of opening. Which pie maker will get the opportunity to launch a pop-up? And will one or both of the investors be so impressed that they end up buying a slice of the business?

Based on one or two clips CNBC has posted, it looks like it will be a fun episode. We really like Nikita Sanches and Jessica Imbronone, and it's a strange experience to see Sanches on this show. He's a young guy who knows his stuff and is used to calling the shots, and, viewing parts of the clip, you get the sense it's a new experience for him to be put on the spot by these know-it-alls.

The episode, called "Pie vs. Pie," will be on at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, on CNBC.
