You may have heard, but Metro Times' inaugural Rib Fest is this weekend. What better way to celebrate 'Murica than by eating smoked meats, drinking beer, and watching farm animals race?
Today is the second day of Rib Fest, and the longest, with activities beginning at noon and ending at midnight. Here's a rundown of some of the musical acts that will be performing today (performances start at 9 p.m.) and here's a list of the barbecue vendors that will be selling their delicious meats. And because what is a celebration of America without beer and whiskey, there will also be Blue Moon, Leinenkugel, Miller Lite (for the truly 'Murican), Smith & Forge Hard Cider, Forty Creek whiskey, and Wild Turkey. (Tito's Handmade Vodka, Bulldog Gin, and Cabo Wabo Tequila will also be available.)
Other activities include pig races, monster truck rides, and bounce houses. It's an all ages event, so bring the kiddies too. Parking and admission are free. Click here for more info.
