Ferndale's vegan and vegetarian restaurant and bar GreenSpace Cafe is expanding it's plant-based cuisine brand with a new, "fast-casual" concept restaurant that will take over the former Moe's Southwest Grill in Royal Oak.

The new space will be called GreenSpace Grill & Go and will feature the same plant-based food that customers already love, just a little bit faster and easier for those who want to take their food on the go.

The owners of GreenSpace noticed that "fast food" and "healthy" are usually never used together to describe a restaurant — and they want that to change.

Customers can expect high-quality veggies, fruits, grains and beans in creative burgers, bowls, tacos, salads, baked goods, raw juices and more. The owners also note that their food truck that they launched this past summer, the GreenSpace Jungle Truck, will also share some of it's dishes with the new spot like the jackfruit sliders and Mexican street corn.

The restaurant is expected to be opened by early 2018.
