Let's be honest, most of us foodies rely on the work of viral Instagrammers for clues on the hidden gems in the local dining scene. The better the food porn and the more followers they boast, the more likely you're going to be to hit up a new or interesting spot.

So it would appear to be a natural fit that Filipino pop-up Sarap would partner with a local Instagram starlet for their next dinner event, April 16. It features pulutan-themed bar food (which Sarap co-founder Dorothy Hernandez says comes from the Tagalog word pulot, which translates to pick up). Sarap held a similarly-styled pop-up at Checker Bar last year.

Hernandez and chef Jake Williams are working with Instagram guru mightyinthemitten, AKA MyThy Huynh. She's got some 15,000 followers, who drool over her food photography and her foray into home baking. They're also partnering with the Dine Drink Detroit consulting group to host the dinner at Harry's Bar downtown.

The four-course menu will be served family-style: longaniza (pork sausage with Sarap banana ketchup and homemade rolls baked by Huynh); ukoy (shrimp veggie fritter served on banana leaves); choice of a vegetarian or Adobo fried chicken entrée; and turons (fried banana spring rolls with ube — purple yam — ice cream).

The collaboration seems to have been helpful, as Sarap's first seating quickly sold out and they've added a second seating at 8:30 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance and go for $40. For more information, click here.

One thing's for sure, there will be an abundance of food porn up in there.
