American-style bistro Empire Kitchen & Cocktails opens in Detroit's Brush Park on May 14.

The 3,150-square-foot restaurant is taking shape in the ground floor The Scott at Brush Park apartment building, and will include a 30-foot bar and large garage doors that will open during warmer weather.

Culinary Institute of America alum and Farmington Hills native Aaron Lowen will run the kitchen and develop the bistro’s menu, of which details have yet to be released.

"We have been looking for the right opportunity to join in the revitalization of Detroit, and we know that this is it,” co-owner Brian Adelman — who also owns 31 Five Guys Burgers and Fries — previously told The Detroit News. “Watching Detroit’s comeback for the past few years has been inspirational, and we wanted to be a part of it.”

Empire, at 3148 Woodward Ave., will join For The Love of Sugar in The Scott, and be neighbors with the recently-opened Bakersfield tacos and soon-to-open Chili Mustard Onions vegan coney island.
