Powers Gold Label Irish Whiskey

43.2% ABV | 86.4 proof

Ireland's Powers relaunched their classic whiskey in 2014, updating the packaging to include a fancy metallic neck hanger. The changes, of course, weren't only cosmetic — Powers tweaked the recipe as well.

Powers has kept the overall formula for Gold Label intact. The Whiskey is still triple distilled in Midleton, Ireland, crafted from barley and water, barrel-aged, and non-chill filtered. The most notable change is that Powers upped the alcohol content slightly, rising from the industry standard of 40 percent to 43.2 percent.

The result is a full-flavored whiskey with a fruity yet spicy finish — heaps of banana, butterscotch, grain, and nectar notes. See why whiskey connoisseurs gave Powers Gold Label Irish Whiskey a silver award at the 2010 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and gold at the 2009 International Spirits Competition.
