Calling all wine lovers: Sample almost 300 wines at Sip Savor Stomp this Saturday

Nov 11, 2015 at 2:06 pm
Wine lovers might want to reconsider their plans for their upcoming Saturday evening. Metro Times' bi-annual wine-tasting event, Sip Savor Stomp, is taking over the Royal Oak Farmers Market and there will be more wines than ever available for tasting.

While this event usually features over 150 different varieties, this time around there will be almost 300 different wines available for sampling. That's kind of a big deal.

The wines come from as close to home as Chateau Grand Traverse and as far away as New Zealand. There will be reds, whites, rieslings, cider wines, and even some champagne. The enormous wine tasting might be the biggest and most varied we've ever seen. All the wines are available to purchase from Westborn Market, so if you're really digging something, you don't have to worry about where to find it. You'll even get an order form when you walk through the door to make things a little easier.

Following in the tradition of previous events, there will be cheese, chocolates, crackers, and other small snacks available to compliment the wines. Food from local vendors like Woodward Ave. Chili, Sanders, McClure's Pickles, Dave's Sweet Tooth, and others will be available for purchase.

VIP entry (which includes access to some special bottles) starts at 6:30 p.m., general admission begins at 7:30 p.m. Check out sipsavorstomp.com to get more info and to buy tickets. The Royal Oak Farmers Market is located at 316 E. 11 Mile Rd., Royal Oak.
