Atwater Brewery is growing again.
Detroit's biggest brewery is opening a Biergarten and Taphouse in the space adjacent to their main brewery on Joseph Campau in Rivertown. The taphouse (formerly Tangerine Room) will open on Wednesday, November 25, the day before Thanksgiving and the biggest bar night of the year.
Twenty beers, along with Atwater spirits, hard cider, and wine, will be on tap inside the 5,000 square foot space. Atwater also plans to release two new beers, Rivertown Porter and Lebkuchen Christmas Ale, during the Beirgarten and Taphouse's grand opening and will offer $1 beers from 4 to 6 p.m.
The space underwent a major renovation once Atwater effectively evicted Tangerine Room owner Darnell Small. The large bar, which was originally imported from Germany, was overhauled and the space is now outfitted with wooded tables and chairs and sleek flat screen TVs. The brewery's state-of-the-art German equipment is on view through wall-to-wall windows behind the bar.
Atwater Biergarten and Taphouse is located at 237 Joseph Campau, Detroit.
