A few seats left for Wednesday's Greening of Detroit garden tour

There are still a few seats left unreserved for the Greening of Detroit's annual bus tour tomorrow, which is a way for the group to show off its progress and its new projects. It's also a great way to see a side of the city that's not readily apparent: the gardens, orchards, and small farms that show how robust the city's green movement really is.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., light snacks accompany onsite registration and a brief overview of the tour, at Greening of Detroit headquarters, 1418 Michigan Ave., Detroit. The bus departs at 6 p.m., and returns to the office by 8 p.m. The tour is free to current members, or $10 for non-members. (Might as well spring for that membership while you're at it; it's $25 per person annually.)

To guarantee a seat on the bus tour, reservations are required. You can click here for reservations, or order them (or check the status of your membership) by emailing [email protected] or calling 313-285-2261.

If worse comes to worse and you simply can't get a reservation, don't despair. There will be a fall tour coming up Sept. 10. Call the same number for details.
