The Detroit I Love presents Nicky Siano

One of the great pioneers of club culture, Nicky Siano started his DJ career when he opened The Gallery in New York in 1973. He was only 17, but as was the case with many of us at the time, we ventured out to clubs, created spaces, and found places that would welcome us, without judgment, with love. The Gallery, along with Paradise Garage, and The Loft were the clubs that defined New York’s underground scene. That foundation eventually spread around the country. Some of the most memorable and iconic clubs here in Detroit were inspired by what Nicky created.
