The 50th Anniversary of the Assassination of Fred Hampton

At the time of his death, Fred Hampton (1948 - 1969) was chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party (BPP), and deputy chairman of the national BPP. Hampton also founded the Rainbow Coalition, the first multicultural political organization that aligned major street gangs to end fighting among themselves and work for social change. Our commemorative program features the 1971 documentary "The Murder of Fred Hampton," followed by speakers Akua Njeri & Fred Hampton, Jr., with a Q&A session to close. Merchandise will be available for purchase immediately following the program.
