The musicians that would eventually form Wayward Mission started as the brain child of Tim Dziekan (previously of Ragbirds). In the summer of 2016. Tim wanted an informal jam session and invited anyone that wanted to come out to join him at the pavilion in Lillie Park to jam on old timey bluegrass tunes. Various musicians would drop by, but a core group began to coalesce, which included Nick Raeon on banjo, Mike Coapman on fiddle, John Yax on mandolin, and Tim Dziekan on guitar.
